Last weekend the European Youth Boulder Cup was hosted in a huge shopping mall in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The competition venue was a boulder gym which was inaugurated officially in May this year. Slaps, overhangs and freely suspended bouldering blocs were main parts of the wall the athletes had to climb up. Weiterlesen

Good results at the German Lead Cups (Seniors & Juniors) in Kempten (Allgäu)
The weather in Kempten was more or less rainy and cloudy but at the senior’s final the sun was coming through so that the audience appeared proportionally numerously. Weiterlesen
German Boulder Cup in Auerbach
Last saturday I participated at the German Boulder Cup in Auerbach (a small town in the Frankenjura). As last year it was a well organised competition with excellent and challenging boulder problems setted by Maxi Klaus, Tobi Reichert and Robert Heinrich. Weiterlesen
First Ascent: „Das Recht der Freiheit“ (8b)
Yesterday, after some days of sunshine, I went to the Elefantenbäuche again to see whether the conditions were good enough to try an open project bolted by Ralf Kowalski and Jan Kroupa on the right hand side of the wall. Weiterlesen
One weekend in the Ith
Yesterday and today I escaped from the city and went out to the Weser-Leine-Bergland (a small mountain range in Northern Germany) with my dad 50 km to the South of Hannover. The weather was good and the rock wasn’t so crowded so that we rejoiced in climbing and had some quiet. Weiterlesen
European Youth Championships (B) in Switzerland
On the 25th and 26th of May the European Youth Boulder Championships took place in front of the North Face (Eiger) in Grindelwald (CH). The event was inside a ice hockey hall so that the competitors didn’t have to fight against the cold outside (once or twice even small snowflakes were falling to the ground). Weiterlesen
One rock climbing day in Kochel
After I had finished my first sports exam and some driving lessons in Hannover I spent almost one week in Munich with Chris Hanke and his girlfriend Chiara Clostermann. It was great time together. Weiterlesen
Frankenjura and Cresciano
After David had finished his writing exams („Abitur“) in school he and Ruben had the vision to escape from city looking forward to stay in the nature – cooking, climbing and sleeping there.
Shortly after the Northern German Lead Championships David decided to stay one more week in Hannover having some driving lessons and time for training indoor. At the weekend he visited Alex Megos in the Frankenjura to climb with him on the rocks. It was pretty bad weather so that they unfortunately could just climb on “Der Student” because there it is always windy, sunny and the rock is not exposed no matter what happens. David topped out the classic “Simon” (8a+) on his first go that day (he tried it one or two months ago but it was horribly cold that day that he wasn’t able to climb it). Alex was and still is very very strong. He easily did “Nola” (8b+) twice in a row and this four times with little rest until he wasn’t excited anymore and was chilling in the sun. He said that he did it approximately 65 times by now. He is crazy and for David it makes always fun to climb with him. Weiterlesen
Third straight win for David
On Sunday the Northern German Lead Championship 2013 took place at the DAV Kletterzentrum in Hamburg. It was a well organised competition with challenging routes setted by Ralf Kowalski and his team. Weiterlesen
One week in Cataluña
After the competition in Dornbirn I went to Margalef again for some days trying my project „Era Vella“ (9a) with lots of motivation. The weather was much more convenient than in February when it was too windy and cold.
I didn’t need much time to get used to the rock again and I made good efforts on each try. Every go you do around 100 continuing moves. Weiterlesen
