David and Ruben after the competition

23.03.12 – This year’s Bodensee-Trophy is a lead competition where athletes from Schwitzerland, Austria and Germany are competing against each other. It’s always located near the Bodensee which borders on those three countries. It was a first check-up on our endurance skills so far. For David it was nice to have one weekend off for more or less just climbing besides learning for the final exams at school. But for both of us it was defintitely a pleasure to meet our climbing friends again!

For the qualifications there were setted some 40 moves homogenous routes by Mark Amann from Austria. For Ruben it was the first time competing at a senior’s competition and it went quite well for him. The preperations for Catalunya helped him having a good endurance level, so that he made his way into the finals after a good qualification climb. In the final route he fell at a long move from a side undercling to a slopy volume while holding the tension with feet. In the end he became 7th place and 3rd in the german ranking.

Finally after the award ceremony we had a small talk with Gutram Jörg from Austria about climbing and life. We would be happy to spend some time with him bouldering in Austria, Switzerland or somewhere else!?

See You soon guys,

David & Ruben ;)
